From the extensive new home developments that I drive by each day, it would seem that here in the northwest suburbs of Chicago we either have some seriously deluded builders or that our own local economy is perfectly insulated from all the disastrous news of late. I'm betting it's the former.

i've been at my daughter's house in st louis for the last 2 months (new grandson). i'm a retired contractor and i've been amazed at the amount of construction going on here, both commercial and high end homes. although i now live in WA state, i was born, raised, lived and worked in south FL until 6 yrs ago. the building going on here in st louie reminds me of the boom times in s. FL. seems to be an awful lot of $$$ here being spent.
