If the arab countries had spent more time looking forward, and got on with the business of life and progress, and spent less time looking backward and trying to kill each other, and reopen old wounds, they might have been a lot closer to the rest of the world in development and medical research, and scientific discovery, etc etc etc.

We fought ww2 to try and put an end to all this nonsense, but it seems that the specter of hate and mayhem has reared it's ugly head again, and crazily, in the same way. By a small country (germany was small at the time of hitler) that was hijacked by a bunch of insane lunatics, hell bent on killing anyone and everyone that stood in their way.
and the same arguments were probably made and fought over at that time, "appease them, they'll go away", and "we must stop them, they won't go away".
It turns out that the "stoppers" were right then, and I am sure the "stoppers" are right now.
