The Clintons had good support from real Americans. They did not seek the KKK factions.

I have been researching Bush's ailment. I think it is called temporal aphasia. It would seem important in this environment to maintain a single contact point for him like the Home Defense Secretary. He never should have been promoted as a candidate.

Bush Sr. had such support. He had 90%+ approval ratings after the Gulf War... the highest ever measured for a US President, up to that time, I believe.

Then he sat on his lead, did little or nothing of note (unless you count luring the Kurds to destruction), advanced no significant new proposals as the economy softened, and was turned out in the next election.
