The question on a short sale should be who WILL be the buyers, not who were the buyers (none, yet). And the answer is that there can only be one, the party that sold the gold short. >

What I meant is that if the CB,s have leased gold up to the tune of 15,000 tons and if this gold, taken by the bullion banks, has been sold on the market to play the gold carry trade, who, on the market, bought this gold. Who is the counter-party to the short sellers.
