Hillary Clinton is always despicable. Gore would assure us that he knows how to deal with bin Laden and terrorism because he trained bin Laden and invented terrorism. In fact, he would relate that as a young boy he sat at bin Laden's knee (forget that he is older than bin Laden), singing terrorist songs and explaining how to take over the world; but he saw the light, and is uniquely qualified to change bin Laden's heart. The solution is to tell everybody to dance the "Macarena" and sing, "Don't worry, be happy," while your boss doinks interns and lobs cruise missiles at goats.

What are you talking about? No one gives a crap what the woman wore to the National Cathedral as fashion really wasn't the issue and how you could possibly discern such strong emotions as hate and envy based on a fuzzy picture, taken from a distance, on a television screen is beyond me.

A lot of people died last week. Let's keep our eye on the target instead of engaging in petty, political bashing. If you must vent your hatred and envy please take it to one of the political threads.

1. there is credible evidence that bin Laden did not plan the attack, and others have been identified.
2. isn't it at least plausible that the attack this September, or even 9/11/2001 (planned for 2 years), was provoked in the minds of the perpetrators, by hatred of Bush 41 for prior civilian deaths and directed this year because Bush 43 is in office, and if we had Gore as President the action would not have been taken, or would have been different?
3. The timing may also have been weather related, because fighting in Afghanistan in the winter would be the most difficult season.
4. Bill Maher was reasonably on target Monday when he said that the terrorist's act was not cowardly. They crashed into a building and died. Cowardly is running away from damage you cause. And, it caused a big brouhaha when Maher said something like fighting a war from a distance when ground combat is what is called for, would be cowardly (he appeared to criticize military objectives of no combat deaths, and thinks the military objective is the objective).
5. Just as using the word "coward" or "cowards" was not productive, some now, including now John MacLaughlin, think even the use of the word "war" is not in our interest.

Oh, something about Dell. Windows XP may be slower to take off, than expected, and there may even be an extended delay as groups organize or openly complain about "activation". The need to get new hardware to install Wxp or even OE6.0, in this economy, may face resistance not imagined a short time ago.

The SEC gave companies freedom to buy back shares for the 5 trading days ended 9/21. What would the week have looked like without that support? How many shares did Dell buy back this week?
