conversations over the dinner tables of America on Saturday and Sunday will be focused on portfolios and what effect a war will have on a comfortable retirement.

They ought to be focused on the young adults who will go out in the next 5-10 years to fight for freedom; some will undoubtedly lose their lives in that effort, as many did 1 and 2 generations ago.

The comfort level of retirement seems a minor, even trivial, topic by comparison...

got perspective?

I think the Talibans are just buying time.
I don't think they have the slightest intention to return the evil.
Pakistan is in a precarious position being threatened by overthrow.
All this is pointing to an inevitable strike.

As far as the portfolios goes, those nearing their retirement will cash out or already have. The rest will wait it out.

I am just a starter and I could be wrong.

I'm no expert in the Chinese language, but I understand that the symbol for "crisis" is similar if not identical to the one for "opportunity".

There's a lot of wisdom in this. There are opportunities galore for the shrewd and the steady. Nothing has changed for the LTB&H crowd who are in Q because of the CDMA promise. If it has, I would surely like to know about it so I can reconsider what I'm doing.

For the shrewd traders among you, the options markets I imagine are full of opportunity given all the volatility we are experiencing.

I'm adding as I can. For the LTB&H crowd, these prices are bargains even if they go down more.

It sounds to me like you lost some of that "old time religion."
