If that happens, they will ask, "Why is the U.S. any better than the terrorists?"

Easy answer. We don't deliberately target innocent civilians just going about their lives....

Art... I fully agree...

And that's why I've advocated that a list of the muslim victims of Tuesday attack be broadcast throughout the muslim world.. Even those muslims most ignorant of what the Koran states, would have to acknowledge that the Koran emphatically denounces the killing of innocent civilians, AND ESPECIALLY FELLOW MUSLIMS.

You and I know that Islam doesn't condone the activities of these fanatics, but we need some moderate muslim Imams out there asserting these facts, so they can overcome the teachings of the more fanatical Imams that are the spiritual leaders of the extremists.

The reality is that these Imams are scholars, and OFTEN VERY DIVIDED in their interpretations of the Koran...

Eventually, moderate muslims must be willing to stand for their beliefs and interpretations of the Koran and assist in denouncing the more radical Islamic scholars.

Islam has no "priests" to set a faith wide doctrine or belief system... Each Muslim is accountable on an individual basis to Allah. But many of them naturally migrate to particular "learned men" advancing their own biased interpretation of that book.
