A comment on the nature of gold...

I hear talk of how well gold did in the 29-30 period. I rarely here talk of how poor HM performed prior to 29. Seems I remember a story that gold's relative outperformance had been preceded by a period of underperformance. Haven't bothered to pull up charts. As a hedge against a dark winter, it might be comforting for some to hold some of that barbaric metal.
