>But alas, there will always be people like George who try to use Anti-American demogoguery to claim the US is the root of evil in this world, or actively seeking to spread evil.

I am now actively seeking to spread evil...evil George...thanks for the laugh!

>re: Allende

>the only thing the US could have done was to apply pressure to prevent it.

I just find it unbelievable that you come up with this stuff!

>In my view, we have NO OBLIGATION to treat any non-democratic state in a manner that we treat our allies.

Say what! We treat many non-democratic states very well while turning a blind eye on our "democracy, freedom, human rights values". My point is that the people who live in these non-democratic states we support obvioulsy hate us a lot, so much in fact that they did what they did on the 11th. Maybe we should change our ways, that's my point.

I could go on and on pointing holes in your arguments but I got better things to do today. Like watching the Detroit Lions on TV ( I know, I know, they suck) after three days of learning about death and taxes...

We obviously disagree and that's fine, many people disagree with me, I am used to it.

cheers

These are not my thoughts, but just stir the FADG pot a bit, here's a heretical thought, contrary to your idea that there is ultimate justification in "Democracies don't declare war on democracies":
