While the use of the Apple laptops in the field is an interesting idea, I think the military might be more taken with the high security communications available via Globalstar, a satellite based wireless system that provides a dial tone virtually anywhere on earth. Globalstar stock isn't much, but the two companies with substantial holdings are Loral and QUALCOMM.
