E, yes I am in the travel agency business (which I gather from you and Rambi, is sort of like being lower than a bug). What, other than your ignorance, causes you to refer to travel agents as supernumerary? We still sell the vast majority of airline tickets and we still offer service that the airlines and on-line bookers don't. No doubt a high percentage of people here are on-line bookers as many of them are on the net much of the day anyway. It may surprise you that there are legions of people who don't own or use computers or do use them and have no use for them when they get home from work. Should ability to purchase or operate a computer dictate whether a person can buy travel? Should they have to call an airline for a ticket. "If you want to go to Dallas, press star followed by 215 and give us all your money." Yeah, baby! BTW, we get no small number of calls from people who had a bad on-line booking experience and swear they will never do it again. We had a bunch last week. If agents took the phone off the hook for a week (they won't because they aren't organized and never will be)the airlines could not come close to handling the load. I don't know why you call me obsessive for wanting to stay in business and speaking aginst a group of companies that would like to put me out of business. Do you call unions obsessive when they demand fairness or decent working conditions and pay? You quote me as follows - "Nice move yesterday; telling the congress you were dropping the web-only fares on your site. Oops, you just moved them over to Orbitz. Damn clever" That's exactly what the airlines did - they deliberately misled congress to dodge a complaint while asking for money. That sucks. FWIW, I explained my meaning of the word "you" yesterday and apologized to Rambi for it. I tried to drop this whole subject many hours ago. If it bothers you so much, all you have to do is stop bringing it up.
