So, while not excusing the attack, it was directed against the British military command structure, and not merely against civilians. I can excuse Palestinian attacks against Israeli soldiers, since they consider that they are fighting a guerilla war agaisnt an occupation force. This falls within the what I perceive as the rules of warfare and are not necessarily terrorist attacks. In fact, I believe the Pentagon was a military target, and thus a "legitimate" target by those who perceive themselves to be at war with the US. But I do not condone the death of civilians as a deliberate target of the attacks, when war has not been declared, nor when there is any military advantage in such an attack. And I condemn the use of children as combatants BY ANY SIDE, which includes having Palestinian children sent out to throw rocks at Israeli soldiers. This is beneath the dignity of any decent Father or Mother. Nor should adult Palestinians hide behind their children while throwing molotov cocktails and shooting at Israeli soldiers. If these folks want to wage a guerilla war on the West Bank, they must focus attacks upon armed soldiers and not unarmed civilians. As for Israelis, they really need to extend the capabilities of their non-lethal riot control arsenal, to something other than rubber bullets (or real ones). Hawkmoon
