Hi John,

Your latest post to me indicates that you have a high level of understanding of the situation regarding the airline industry and terrorism. My apologies for my unkind words to you regarding the originating post from you in this series. I see that I was reacting to a post that you most likely penned in anger and without the the display of the great intelligence and content of your most recent post. I'm grateful we are back to adding more light than heat to the discussion of the matters at hand. Heaven knows there has been way too much emotional content to our lives of late.

As regards the airline situation, there is an interesting resource I've just discovered:
planebusiness.com

thestreet.com

Thanks for the link to the Financial Times article on IMF activities related to the crises in Argentina, Turkey, etc. It amplifies my point that we do not generally engage in "foreign aid" out of any sense of altruism, but rather to support the strategic and financial interests of the U.S. and its corporations. And I believe there will be an ongoing need for such pragmatism going forward. My comment about the necessity of this stands, though I do understand the concerns you have about the apparent nature of "hand outs" that much of this appears to be. Above all else in regard to "foreign aid", politics aside, I place the pragmatic goal of making the economies of debtor nations work more successfully to be a worthy goal.

Re: I guess you don't remember the non-New Years celebration in Seattle as an example. There are 3000 members of this terroristic cult in over 60 countries.
I'm hoping you can clarify this for me. Reading between the lines, you seem to be saying that the WTO protestors in Seattle are in some way associated with the Bin Laden group. Please advise.

Regards, Ray
