Some level of distortion is inevitable, and when you look at "distortions of what I consider facts", you must also understand that your own perception of what is factual is as likely to be distorted as that of the source that you are looking at. It is important to draw news from different sources precisely for this reason. When the distortions are so gross and consistent that they frequently reach the level of caricatured buffoonery, though, it is sensible to disregard that source altogether. You can draw a reasonable cross-section of news from serious sources of varying centrist bias without having to include the ranting of ideologues from either direction.
