tippet there are stocks trading at 5 to 6 of trailing 52 weeks P/E. One must be careful what he chooses to go long and what go short. Earnings will fall and in certain cases evaporate, but the market will settle around historic levels P/E and cash flow levels ........... and in many stock it reached those levels

I thought that gold is good for inflationary times, and not when real interest rates go negative (which typically spells a deflation). Or is gold always a good buy, even when it is a secular long term down trend of a few decades?
