For as far back as I can remember, airlines have always had financial trouble. Think of how many have gone belly up or disappeared through mergers and acquisitions. They're constantly reinventing themselves.

Companies that file chapter reorganizations can still survive. It gives them a chance to weather bad times, reorganize and get on their feet again.

Maybe bailing them out is the right thing to do - I don't really know. It just seems that the myriad of complicated problems and challenges we are facing need to be carefully thought out. It scares me that the solutions are so fast in coming.

I think it's great to see everyone rally around the flag and support the president. Seeing America united is a good thing. That there is no dissent and no one asking questions or making other suggestions is a bit troublesome to me. What are the ramifications? Quick fixes aren't always the best.

The theme that's constantly being repeated in the Media is go out and spend, support America, go back to living your lives. There's a lot of people out there who can't do that. The airlines alone have laid off 121,000 people but there were hundreds of other companies that were laying off people before this attack happened. Companies have spending and hiring freezes in force. Retired people have seen the proceeds of their 401k's and retirement funds disappear.

The problems we are facing are going to take a very long time to sort out and correct. I hope and pray that we don't do things to exacerbate the situation.
