That's a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think? It is on par against a $25 chipset (is the KT266A $25?); it does not suck against it.

But, yes, they brought up expectations far beyond where they should have.

Kash: They rpomised killer performance and were gonna charge $60-90/chipset.

Now it sucks against a $25 chipset.

You're not exactly comparing apples to apples ;-).

NFORCE provides:

- great sound (supposedly)
- the best integrated graphics available (although not as good as I had expected, I'll admit)
- integrated 10/100 ethernet controller

Your $25 dollar VIA solution comes with AC95 sound (blech!), no integrated graphics and no integrated NIC. Not exactly comparable&#133

But, yes, if you insist on not using the integrated graphics and plugging in your own sound card (it would probably have to be better than an SBLive!, going by initial reports)&#133 well, then it would probably make more sense to buy the VIA KT266A-based board.

Re: Now it sucks against a $25 chipset.

Ur nuts. There's nowhere to plug in a monitor on that "$25 chipset."

That "$25 chipset" is useless without a $50 video card.
