Are you referring to 1948? If so, that war was initiated by Israel. Israel grabbed Arab land by force (apparently not satisfied with the official boundaries which gave Israel disproportianately too much land). Some Arab countries then counter-attacked Israeli forces in Palestine to reclaim that land. They did not attack Israel.

Oh sure, they wanted to pick a fight with six Arab armies who outnumberd them 10 to 1. That's why they deceptively accepted the UN partition, of course.

Are you sure you're not a veteran of Tass or Pravda? from the good old days?
