OT

Yes, mistakes have been made, but let's put this in some context:

More than 6,000 INNOCENT VICTIMS have been slaughtered in an unprovoked attack on our soil.

Am I the only one who sees that our sense of outrage is disappearing out there. Folks seem to be more worried about being sensitive, blaming the government, and just generally looking for excuses to not eradicate those responsible for the murders. Introspection and self-examination are important, but they are not going to protect my children from madmen.

I shudder to think what would have happened if these attitudes prevailed during WWII. I can see it now - "our policies forced Japan into the bombardment of Pearl Harbor, so let's let them slide and work out a diplomatic solution." We would all be speaking German or Japanese right now.

> 2. The use of the word "crusade".

I was catching up on world news and this is what got my attention.

``I have asked several ulema to explain the duty of Muslims when the U.S. president officially raises the issue of a religious crusade against Muslims,'' said Mohtashemi.

This administration does suffer from a foot in mouth disease. Though many Americans do not realize it, there is a part of the world that is sensitive to this language and there are people there who will use what Bush&Co say here to their advantage...that reminds me, before the election there were a number of jokes about Bush's lack of foreign affair skills. The one that comes to mind is him saying, "the bombing of the 'L' shape country will continue until...what's his name...the guy with mustache will surrender".
