I second that! If we do nothing we will get many more attacks. How much blood do these apologists want on their hands before we act to stop this? And of course, they will want to have it both ways. If another successful attack occurs and nothing is done they will want the government's head.

> Yes, mistakes have been made, but let's put this in some context

Indeed! America lost 6,000 people. That was a terrible loss, but explain to me why this loss justifies *ordering* others to the war of not their own making. And how does it justify threatening them that unless they walk the party line there will be hell to pay? Please don't go into "that is a threat to the civil world and its for their own good" kind of argument. Try to reverse the situation and see how you would have behaved. For example, picture the FLA Cubans bombing a building in Cuba and ordering America to fallow them around the world.

Now don't get me wrong here. I do support the destruction of the terrorists. And except for Brian, I think so does everyone else on this thread. But as you chase down the culprit down the street, you should be mindful of who you knock on the floor and which windows you break, especially since these the people whose help you need. And that is neither "sensitivity" nor even good manners; it is just common sense.

OT:

My sense of outrage has not diminished. I want to see Bin Laden found and killed. And anyone who helps him must be made to stop, using any necessary methods.

But, the only way we are going to find him, is with local help. An informer close to him. With that, a Special Forces Squad can find him. Without that info, a half million GIs on the ground in Afghanistan may not be able to find him. In WW1, we put up posters all over our country, calling the Germans "Huns". In WW2, we interned our Japanese-Americans. That was wrong, but it didn't hurt the war effort. In this war, we rely on the locals (people of the same race and religion as our enemy) for information and access. Without that, we lose. It's not a matter of right or wrong, it's a matter of what works and what doesn't.

If we want to avenge our 6000+ dead, needlessly pissing off our allies is not a good idea.
