Alan,

What are the master/slave assignments for your HD and CD?

Can I find this out without rebooting? Don't want to risk it at the moment.

I was reading the ABIT User's Manual, and they recommend two drives on the Primary IDE with the boot drive as Master and the other as Slave. Then the CD on the Secondary, and it says it doesn't matter if it's set master or slave. They also say there is no performance advantage to separating drives to one drive per IDE, but they list it as a valid method with the CD as slave on IDE2. I think I'm set with both drives on IDE1, but will have to check it. I remember a lot of fooling around with Master/Slave stuff when the second disk was added until we finally got it right. Seems my original drive did not like being moved from master to slave, but in finally gave in.

I will of course check on my next boot if I can't do it from Windows or a MSDOS Prompt window. Anyone know if I can do this? Help is not helping.

On another note. I found some strange things running Msconfig in the startup window. I had a double load of the power manager Rundll.exe, and a double load of an old virus detector I thought I got rid of -- PC-cillin program IOMON98.EXE. Rundll.exe has shown up several times as a page fault error when the system gets flaky. I have unselected the duplicate, and both the IOMON98.EXE (this file is not on the computer). I'm still showing Trend PC-cillin98 as an installed program that I can never uninstall because the uninstall program is missing too. Is there any way to clean out these unnecessary entries in the startup list, and to get rid of that Trend PC-cillin 98?

Dan
