Don: Although we did make a lower low as you said which is not good in the Sox, we still have not pierced the intraday low of 363.52 set last Friday.

I don't think one should read too much into the following but just point it out anyway. We had some big names that were showing relative strength in the SOX like INTC, TXN, AMAT, KLAC and NVLS in that at their closing prices were far above where they made their intraday lows last Friday as compared to how far we are in percentage terms from the intraday SOX low of 363.52. INTC, for example, is a bit over 9% above its intraday low while the SOX is less than 2% off its low. INTC in particular held well. Interesting that such a stock like MU can sell off 19% but have the Sox hold its lows and INTC can hold as well. TXN is 15% above its intraday lows even after yesterday. The weakness in the Sox came from those like ATLR, XLNX and MU. So it looks like the Sox is in some kind of sorting/ bottoming process.
