Me too, P. That's the only reason I'm here now,

... basically.

Certainly, everything affects the stock market, including politics, so it makes some sense to me that these outrageous -g- arenas that provide the opportunity for 'freedom of speech' were created by members of SI ...

Makes even more sense to realize that so many lost most or all of their money in the past 18 months.

Gotta talk about something ...

Pure accident. I finally bought a decent computer. (I had mainly used a 386 as a word- processor, and went to the library if I needed to do research on- line). I was now on- line at home, and started checking things out. I happened to use Metacrawler alot, because it was a "hyper- search engine", and started to use the public threads on the Go2Net homepage, which interfaced with some SI threads. I got in the habit of using the Clinton Sanity thread, in discussing the impeachment process, and got to know a bunch of people. I started to check out other threads, like the Libertarian Discussion thread, where I would alternately be a great guy and a horrid statist. At a certain point, I was comped in by SI, and started using the SI site instead of Go2Net........

Good Evening Poet,

Catching up on the thread, I read with interest, the discussion on compartmentalizing people and their thoughts.

I do not understand that thought process.. To put people and their thoughts "in a box with a top"

How can they even climb out to get "on a soap box" ??..

How can they even think "outside the box" ??...

which is so revered by all "in words, but maybe not in action.. I don't know, but,

Evolution suggests that some poor wo,man, had to go outside the cave(box) to see what caused that bright light and that hellish fire..

Even old Robert or Roberta,(a good name, a favorite uncle of mine in this case, and middle of mine) sitting under an apple tree, after being boinked by an apple, rather than thanking the "almighty" or "who ever" for his/her good fortune, for s,he (I am not sure if it was Robert or Roberta, their is a lot of revisionist history going around IMO) didn't have to work today for hiser daily sustenance,, got up dizzily, and wandered and wondered,

why ..that apple didn't fly"

..but fell straight down..

..on the ground..
