Few years ago, my daughter was asked by airport security management to put a (fake) grenade, supplied by them, in her purse and go through security, as a test of their system. Went right thru, no problem...Management was not impressed. I was not impressed. I suspect airlines will be forced to get rid of the 72 year old retired folks sitting at the post and hire some real security. Matts suggestion sounds workable. One year active guard duty in lieu of two inactive reserve or something.
