Jews and Arabs got along well in Palestine, until the Zionists came along. This statement is EXACTLY equivalent to an old Southern segragationist saying 'In the good old days, we got on just fine with our nigras, until outsiders stirred them up. They never did want to vote, you know.' I have already explained to you what living under the dhimma laws meant, and quoted examples of the oppression of the Jews in Palestine (and other Arab countries) before Zionism. You just don't read evidence that doesn't agree with your prejudices. When the Arabs learned that the Zionists did to wish to live side by side, but planned to displace them, problems ensued. To recap: Muslim population of Palestine, 1880: 200,000 Muslim population of Palestine, 1948: 1,200,000 Some displacement. A more accurate quote would be, when the local effendi families realized that their power & influence would be greatly lessened, they determined to take all measures to stop the Zionist advance. The first step they took was to silence the Arab moderates, by force if necessary. Then they started the terrorist attacks, starting in Hebron in 1929.
