accusing the president of stirring up hysteria, now you want to talk about abridging civil liberties.
Yes, the two concepts are linked. I accuse the President of abridging civil liberties, (and pushing through unwise economic positions), by stirring up hysteria. The way he is stirring up hysteria is by using the rhetoric of WAR but taking the actions of a criminal prosecution. Clear?

The raid on Tokyo was 4 months after Pearl Harbor
I take it you are claiming that a military raid is what distinguishes a war?

If so I must point out that military raids have been carried out many times without claiming a state of war exists. A war if I am not mistaken must be carried out between two or more soverign nations. It seems to me that the administation is refusing to claim that a nation even exists around Afganistan or if one does there is no claim to be fighting that nation, only a demand for the extradition of a criminal element.

online petition
Har.. Har.. I bet you pass electronic chain letters too. How can you have a petition online in a public site unless everyone agrees to a common authentication method? I've seen those giant lists of names that probably come from an electronic phone book that pass for petitions on the web.
