I would agree with your postulation of recovery except for the fact that their will be no military buildup and vast spending increases of weapons because the enemy is a few guys here and few guys there. We don't need to produce 500,000 tanks like we did during WWII. So as the world spirals downward toward depression, it isn't clear to me that a recovery will happen for years. The bubble was caused by greed and it blew up for many reasons, we were on a track to have a pretty strong worldwide recession until the bombings and now we have a hunker down mentality which may just throw the world in a depression. I hope this is wrong but when an airplane goes into a flat spin it is virtually impossible to save it, same goes for a deflationary spiral and associated depression.
