Greyhound, firecracker, Greyhound, firecracker,,,,,, Greyhound suspended bus service nationwide this morning following an attack on a driver (passenger cut his throat) in Tenn. while the bus was underway. So far CNN is reporting 10 dead. I don't think this is a copy cat, from the news reports it just sounded like the guy was a nut case. BWDIK? With the futures where they are this morning it looks like Don's class sell will hit the high at the open. ggg/ngngng/ggg The first gg is for me being in cash, the second ng is for my (and your) GTW position, and the third is for the comments that ole "buy & hole" Peter Lynch made. He allows as how market timers suck and they never suckseed! He says that the best you can hope for is around 2.5% as opposed to the 11-12% the market normally gives you! Weeeeellllll, I guess I'm about the average market timer, year to date (after 3/4s of cat herding) I'm + 2.8%. I sure wished I woulda bought and held on so Peter could give me that 11% instead!!! Butttt, then again he might have a tough time doing it this year - maybe next year, - yeah, that's right, maybe I'll buy and hole next year!! not. ggg I was simply flabergasted at the number of talking heads and "economists" that were touting that the train was leaving the station and you better get on again. My own take is that the train is on a pretty steep grade going DOWN, the Fed may be applying the brakes, but I think I smell them burning. Hmmmm, time to be patient. Having said all that, I don't know what the Fed effect will be. One of the past Fed Govenors said yesterday that the Fed will do whatever is necessary for as long as necessary to forestall the BIG drop.
