<<London Times said yesterday that Clinton bears fundamental responsibility for risk to
national security and freedom.>>

I did not belive any of the media would have the guts to make this statement. How true. Clinton fiddled
(around) while the terrorists got their toe-hold.

>> London Times said yesterday that Clinton bears fundamental resposibility for risk to national security and freedom.

Who are they blaming for Northern Ireland? How about blaming the perpetrators?

Every resident of the White House in the years leading up to the WTC bears some responsibility. As Harry Truman pointed out, the buck stops there. To go a step further, the President's priorities are a reflection of the concerns of his constituents and the pressure of Congress. Without a precedent for this type of horror, the American people would have never approved of the cost and sacrifice of personal liberties that will be necessary to better safeguard America.

Jack- Do you have a rough idea of the title of the article? I looked for it under Sept 28 London Times at www.londontimes.com and couldn't find it. Thanks.

"Chelsea started Oxford today. Wonder if she'll inhale or join the latest bunch of peaceniks."

Jeezus, the Clinton haters aren't going to stop with Bill. Now, they're going after Chelsea too. I guess any grandchildren can expect the same treatment.

OT: The huge government intelligence failure is not a Democrat (Clinton) or Republican blaming issue, after all, President Bush had been office almost nine months when the horror hit. Before the national wakeup call, the coordination between the various agencies (INS, FAA, CIA, FBI, NORAD etc.) was still in great disarray and big holes were all over the place in airport security. None of the current intelligence administrators were able to envision and plan for a passenger plane as suicide bomb scenario, despite an incident in Paris and an incident where a small plane hit the White House before - very little patrol of our sky.

Also, our national policy, legacy of both political parties, didn't adapt well in the early going of the Post Cold War era, for example, when we stood by a political vacuum in Afganistan after supplying weapons to the "freedom fighters" who defeated the USSR.

Hey, Jack - Busch's humanitarian aid package for the Afghans must really frost your pumpkin. Good old fashioned American jingoism just ain't what it used to be. Go figure.
