I think articles like that one, JRI, are a little like Abby Cohen -- at some point, they're gonna be right. That's not the first one that's said "within days" ya know. This time might be right. Might not. But there'll be another article in two days that says "within days."

Also, I wonder if the market will react like in the Gulf War? I guess it depends on the attack the US and friends launch, but this isn't the same type of campaign. This time, in fact, we keep hearing the constant "reprisals gonna come when we attack" stories, so will that temper any market reaction? Or is that ignored until it comes to pass (if, God forbid, it does come to pass)? I dunno. But I don't know that the market direction is as closely related to military action this go round (though I do suspect at least a spike, like you).

Frankly, if I'm looking at market moving news, I think Thursday's unemployment claims and Friday's unemployment number are probably the biggest things on the horizon. Unless the Fed finds a way to surprise. (Hmmm. . . retaliation and Fed cut on the same day???? Maybe I should ignore my statements above if that happens).

the freep, watching the SOXX fade gently into that good night (EDIT: and watching that lovely futures ramp continue)
