The UN should send troops to force the Israeli settlers out of the West Bank and Gaza. And wherever fighting breaks out a no man's land should be established with barbed wire such that only the UNvarmy could be in this no-man';s land.

So you want to commit a UN force that is powerful enough to imose a solution on Israel, and control any angry Palestinain response while having no strategic depth. Do you realize how difficult that would be both practically and politically?

To recap: the Israelis offered 95%+ of the West Bank back, and never got a counter proposal, just an intifada. I put it to you that there is only one side that is insanely angry, but one side is enough for this war.
