I come back always to the conclusion that whatever the Israeli army is doing, which I would characterize as a 3 eyes for one eye policy,isn't working. The UN is to blame for creating the state of Israel without the consent of any of it's future neighbors. All of the Jewish refugees could have been accommodated in the western countries. The first refusal of immigration visas was in Hitler's time. The second refusal was in the immediate post-war period. Plunging the Zionist Jews into eternal war with their neighbors was the result of the second refusal.
