Condit Puts Bachelor Pad on Market

STEPHEN M. SILVERMAN

Embattled California Congressman Gary Condit, 53, who currently is a member of the newly formed House Intelligence Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security, is putting his Washington bachelor pad up for sale, reports The Washington Post. The one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom 660-sq.-ft. condo, in that city's trendy Adams Morgan neighborhood, is priced at $130,000, which, the paper notes, is only $13,000 more than Condit paid for the place 11 years ago. Touring the condo, which is housed in a 90-year-old building, the Post reporter found plush white wall-to-wall carpeting and a living room dominated by a "puffy" black leather sofa and a "severe" glass coffee table. The kitchen was described as small, cramped and dark, there are a lot of mirrors in the bedroom and a lot of candles in there as well, just as there are in the bathroom. In the linen closet was a bicycle helmet. No word on where Condit, who is remembered for his link to missing federal intern Chandra Levy, plans to resettle.
