James/Mike...I intentionally did not answer Mike's question because he is thinking revenge while we are thinking solution.

Western thinking is based on pressuring our enemies to quit certain behavior patterns. An example would be: if you hit me, I'll hit you back harder and this will make you stop. This is what Israel is doing to the Palestinians. This kind of thinking is sometimes called Occidental Thinking.

Oriental thinking is just the opposite. Orientals move into pressure, and have developed such strategies as passive resistance, or waiting a long, long time to get even. A westerner (Israel, US, and all Western thinkers ) consider "the ultimate solution" (a big bomb or whatever.) The Oriental strategy would be, "You stab me with a knife, and I'll stab you with a thousand pins until you bleed to death".

From my perspective Christianity, and Judaism is firmly anchored in Western thinking, while the Muslims try to embrace both the east and the west in their thinking.(Eastern Bias)

If you look at a world map it is easy to see that the Muslim world (of about 22 countries) constitutes a bridge between the east and the west. ( The old silk road).

I would think that the objective would be to solve the problem of terrorists without creating any more new enemies.

My readings of the Talmud and the Koran are not all they should be so don't take offence.
