There must be some method to marketing otherwise they would not try to teach it as if it were science. For me, though, there is too much in marketing that smacks of voodoo. My sense is that Barrett feels the same way and not know what to do about it - trying to cut costs.

But, I am also much less enamored of how they teach science these days as I see science majors trying to express their weltanschaung on these threads. I am appalled. I have a mind to try to capitalize on this display of poor logic, immaturity and excessive machismo by shorting civilization futures.

Okay, maybe this thread does not rise to the level of the "The Best and the Brightest" chronicled by David Halberstam - it perhaps represent a poor man's "Best and Brightest" members of civilization. Nevertheless, it's scary out there.
