Shootie, I can understand where you are coming from, but I cannot blindly accept any alternative "cures" based on anecdotal miracles. I still believe that having motivation and faith in whatever ever cure you are using is as big a factor in overcoming a disease as is the physical assist of the medicine, whether it be a vaccine or vitamin. I think the will to live (or be cured - the same IMO) is a much larger part of alternative cures than it's followers will admit. Some people refuse to lose and turn to alternative medicine with this strengthened will after a failed passive experience with conventional medicine. What follows is a miracle cure and a damning of conventional medicine, as in the case of my friend. the only thing conventional medicine did wrong was misdiagnose the problem in the first place, resulting in an ineffective treatment. Some alternatives are genuinely helpful, but the lax controls on quality of OTC herbs, etc leave me extra cautious. However, I may be changing my mind on that aspect. My own doctor, I have diabetes and he is the head of the area Diabetes Foundation and a specialist, is offering some herbal remedies, but I am still trying to determine if he is genuinely presenting a viable alternative treatment or just selling herbal remedies on the side. I should trust him but am just fearful, I guess; of what, I'm not sure. Maybe he is just wanting a guinea pig for some field trials of his own. Chas
