Thats sounds OK. A reasonable awareness in the USA to the terrorist threat, plus some counter measures, should see a return to almost normal living imho. The extra security should not be that bad for business, as it should generate some business in it's self. In many ways the terrible criminal act on the WTC will be seen over time as a "terrorist act waiting to happen", and just like accidents, they are preventable.

Although "common sense" it not the preferred tool in all situations, when it comes to accidents and terrorist acts, my belief says it would work to eliminate the biggest proportion of them. Politicians, lawyers, the media (in particular) should allow time and the appropriate people find the solutions to these problems. Firing up the emotions, pointing fingers, and argument without communicative discussion does not work for sure. (In my opinion).

No reflection on your post. Agree with what you said. Just had to get my 2 cents in -g-

Defense is sensible, agreed, but it is no substitute for offense, particularly in the Middle East. A columnist (I forget who), quoted a Pakistani friend of his, "We disapprove of military intervention," he quipped, "particularly when it is left unfinished."

There is a great respect for force in that part of the world, particularly if it is applied intelligently and hard.
