Yes, if everything is true the Hammer will be an amazing processor architecture. Hans might haven gotten some Microprocessor Forum slides in advance, otherwise I don't think he would have that much inside information about the architecture. The only thing that irritated me a little bit was Hans claim that the memory controller would not be integrated into the northbridge. I thought AMD had already confirmed that it would be integrated? (which could reduce latency significantly)

I don't think you could get all the information about a chip design from patents. You could either combine it with other information and get a good idea of how a chip was going to be designed or you could look at the patents and figure how how you would design a chip using those technologies, but I doubt that you can look at patents and figure out the design of a next generation chip.
