Petz, I know a lot of laptop users, and almost all of them plug theirs in the majority of the time. Also, you can disable SpeedStep to run at the full speed, even when unplugged, if you so desire.

Nearly every Pentium III laptop ever sold does not run at it's rated speed when running off of batteries. But Intel's OEMs actually use MHz and GHz to market them.
This is a much clearer case of abuse than a PR rating.


Not in my view. Each processor can and does run at the rated speed at least some of the time and it could run at that speed all of the time if the owner so chose.
