"by forcing all parties to abide by elections in several countries." Is that elections under somoza, or under the leftist that deposed him. I'll take the leftist's election anytime, the ballots were kept confidential, you didn't have to die if you voted for the opposition, like most people did under somoza, who "won" 99% of the vote. I guess your right about marcos and Iranian expansion, but Reagan did that by making Saddam an ally. I don't know about Reagan's relationship to Mandela and the black effort there.
