Radio Shack Sept 2001 sales call on 10/4/2001.
radioshackcorporation.com

1) Terrorist attack didn't have a big overall impact on sales.
2) Sept Tot sales (including lower margin dealer franchise items) -6% YOY
Sept comp store sales -3% YOY
They see this as due to recessionary pressures.
3) Personal electronics was hard hit by terrorist attack as consumers turned to more essential items. Down low double digits

4) Wireless sales was a star:
Wireless $ sales up 20% YOY
Wireless unit sales up 30% YOY
Disparity in unit sales increase VS $ sales inc in Sept due to clearing out old models for Sprint in preparation for a move to 1XRTT models.

Radio Shack will hold the Oct sales call on Tue Nov 6 before the market opens.

It appears that 1XRTT is here as far as Sprint is concerned. Verizon cannot be too far behind.

Re : explanation for Q sucking / "it could simply be the chart" -- I just want to get it "on the record" :

Based on my limited understanding of technical analysis (TA) ... Is it clear that the people who think looking at past stock price behavior is useful in predicting future price behavior ...

Will say :

Based on QCOM closing at a new 3 month (and 6 month) (and 12 month) (and 24 month) low ...

And, based on QCOM being below all relevant moving averages (a mathematical certainty, given today's close was a new 2 year low).

Then ... therefore, TA absolutely predicts QCOM should suck some more, for a while ?

Would someone please confirm this ? (before we see what happens tomorrow) (including the before 9:30 A.M. bid / ask price movements).

I want to get this in print NOW, so that if and when the recent QCOM share price action turns out to be a "whole move based on NOTHING" (my own personal belief) ...

Then, I can point to this as yet another example of TA being absurd.

Jon.
