Just for fun; what do you think the odds are of Qcom hitting 25 in the next year?

I'll give it 50:50 as of this moment. Well; maybe 40:60.

MM... "if qcom droped below 25 id buy 100,000 shares"

I like mine better.. If the day comes that the first EU operator does a Nextel and announces that they are going with the WDMA technology, and will deploy GSM on Greenfield in lieu of WCDMA.. Then you better be shorting that 100,000 shares.

Nextel states what I have been saying since QCOM was in the $80's.

3G IS DEAD!

No widespread market for HS wireless mobile data.
No killer application for HS wireless mobile data.
Killer application is VOICE!

Nextel wants more VOICE capacity with minimal capital outlay! EU operators will soon/probably already have realized the same as Nextel. EU operators have new spectrum, and existing MAP core network and GSM basestation infrasturcture in place ! Doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure out what to do!

Qualcomm lost the Voice war to GSM!! Qualcomm realigned the battle to Mobile Data.. Now that the operators are starting to decide that HS Mobile Data is mostly a no show as far as market and applicaitons go. One can imagine how QCOM stock would react to the migration of EU 3G spectrum to GSM!

Sonera in Norway was warning!
Nextel is a pre-cursor!
A major EU operator opting out of WCDMA for GSM would be the 8.0 on the Richter scale!

Not saying it will happen... But, if it does.. It will be brutal!
