When we supported the Afghans against the Soviets, President Reagan called them, "Heroes, freedom fighters. . ." now that the tables are turned, they're terrorists.

We supported people who were fighting a military enemy. They weren't striking civilian targets. Now that they're striking civilian targets...they are terrorists.

My family's blood has paid for my right to run my mouth.

Your entire argument is based on total moral ambiguity !

I'm sure those family members are quite proud.

Did the Taliban even exist when "we supported the Afghans against the Soviets", and "President Reagan called them, Heroes, freedom fighters"?

This is an oversimplification of what was a complex situation. The majority of the Mujahedin leadership the U.S. supported during the war with the Soviets are now part of the Northern Alliance. Most notably, Ahmad Shah Massoud, who was killed (not coincidentally) two days before the 9/11 attack.
