I need to find some old price data, since I wonder how much zinc prices dropped going into the recession before production dropped ? Zinc prices have dropped almost 40% in the last 12 months (from 1200ish to 766) and we really are not too far into the current recession.

Here's zinc production data from 1900-to-1998.
pubs.usgs.gov
Over a 10% drop from 1974-1975, not too much in 1981-82

This data is from a new and VERY useful USGS online project I just found:
pubs.usgs.gov

They have data going back to 1900 for many commodities.
They cover aluminum, lead, silver, tin, and zinc
Don't see copper, gold, or nickel.
