I have no desire to 'stir up fears'.

Here are the facts:

1. There have only ever been 18 cases of pulmonary anthrax contracted in the USA's recorded history including the last death.

2. Pulmonary anthrax is not contagious.

3. Anthrax was contracted by two people who were related by proximity. One did not get symptoms yet and is being treated with antibiotics.

4. Tests have confirmed the presence of wild spores in an office building.

As I said... I have no desire to stir up fear... but these facts can only lead to very few conclusions.

Really ony one is likely. And that one is that the anthrax was released into the office by someone who did so intentionally.

If you would prefer to hear someone with more credibility than me say it:

``It's very hard to find a benign explanation, so it is upsetting,'' Theresa Koehler, an assistant professor of microbiology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, said in a telephone interview.

``They found spores in the building. That's very suspect,'' said Koehler, an expert on anthrax. ``It is unheard of that you would find spores in a building like this.''

Whether this was OBL/Al-Qaida I have no idea. Could be some domestic loon stealing some limelight.

Could it be a stunt by newsmen? Well i spose it COULD. But that is a longshot. Anthrax spores are NOT easy to come by... really.

So in light of the facts I believe my conclusion is not 'fear stirring' but rational reason.

Might my conclusion be wrong? Sure... but it isn't likely.
