Bulls-- the media hype is now required. If they do not keep those with weak kness from folding and the bleeding hearts from whinning the anti-war fanatics will have the military home before the 1st shot is fired. It is the fear-- of things real and perceived-- that finally united the country to get something done with the situation. As long as Americans were being killed away from home it was only something to bitch about. Clinton was going to hunt Laden for 8 years-- no support so he hunted ugly women instead. The fear of the general public is what forced Bush to act. The fear they may be next caused the Brits & French & others to join,, and the fear of reprisals is what caused some Eastern nations to decide to help. When the media turns to showing death and distruction overseas and body bags begin to return home we will see the public begin to waiver-- until fear for their own ass overcomes.

I agree. Look at the y2k non event. There's a lot of people that probably still have garage's full of bottled water and toilet paper, because of the fear mongering. FWIW IMO si is not totally virginal in this fear mongering issue either. It's like people are in a rush to be the first person to post the worst possible scenarios. What purpose does that serve?

Just my 2 cents worth.

Anyone that doesn't understand that media manipulation exists and is used on a continual basis in this day and age was hopeless to begin with.

That fact has been made abundantly clear by........the media.
