MT, here's the deal!

MCHP, which is a specialized chip company, said last night that its quarter would come in at the high end of the range. MCHP opened at the high of the day, up a percent or so, and proceeded to sell off and end down 4 percent. (What the???)

In after hours, MOT reported a "pro forma" loss of 7 cents on a "HUGE non-cash" charge. (Ya gotta love these new economy earnings reports, the hell with real numbers, "pro forma" is the way to go).

So I guess MOT will go up tomorrow and take the SOX with it.

And we're weasels?

This recent tech bubble should be charged off as a one time incident. On a pro-forma basis, the fine folks of this country really don't have losses in their 401K's, IRA's and personal trading counts. The bubble was really a figment of our imagination. It didn't happen. Write it off. Pro-forma dictates you track your portfolio from 1989 and start over. Your pro-forma losses or gains are based on the percentage of loss or gain from your 1989 holdings.

I'm doing great! How bout you?
