Here's a Washington Post article that reflects how we continue t make the same mistakes over again for short term gains...

it sure does...I keep telling people my aging eyes cannot read whole pages of italic but they just keep on doing it. <g>

Unfortunately that article offers little positive, other than to suggest we ought to go it alone. I disagree that we should take that approach. The Bush Administration has said from the outset that at different stages of this war against terrorism that different coalitions might be necessary. They have also given states the opportunity to cease supporting terrorists. As just one example, the current Pakistani regime, which is less than two years old, seems moderate and seeks to improve relations with the U.S., including embracing free elections. He has also sent out diplomatic feelers to Pakistan's longtime foe, India.

You supplied a pretty good answer -- to debate until everyone decides. Feel free to proceed until everyone decides.

Incidentally, have you decided?

Cheers,

48 hours prior to the assault, Bush called up Vajpayee to inform him about the impending attack, and gave him his 'word' that the Jaish would be placed on the terrorist organisation list.

After Musharref's (and I am tempted to put in an adjective here, but I won't) press conference, he called up Vajpayee and asked him for regional co-operation. Vajpayee, blunt as he always is, told him to go rid his house of terrorist camps before engaging in sweet talks. Red faced Musharref is roumored to have muttered "We're looking into it" before Vajpayee disconnected the phone !

The point I'm trying to make is that they're looking into it !
