The "frank openness" argument is rejected on its face. There is nothing closed about our society or government decision making process. Each policy initiative has been debated openly so anyone who cares to pay attention can see who we're siding with on any foreign policy matter. Admittedly, we've make some mistakes along the way, but nothing intentionally disrespectful to anyone's religion or tribe.

Let's be honest here. There is nothing that people living in the West can do to change man-on-the-street opinion in the Middle East. Rather, it is incumbent on the ayatollahs, mullahs and other prominent religious leaders in the East to educate the masses on this matter. And so far, we haven't seen much of it. You say at the pinnacle of the Islamic religion is Peace with Justice. The behavior of the East's muslims sully this concept.

Finally, you say what I'd like to do is kick butts and come home to Monday Night Football. That is what's happening. The time for worrying about our support for Israel or penchant for Big Macs is long gone. If we don't show strength by bringing the terrorists to justice, we will open ourselves and the rest of western civilization up to additional mass slaughter.
