Slacker -- re : "Was Qualcomm sandbagging ..." Um, would you please tell me what "sandbagging" means ?

I figure if I don't know what it means (and, I speak English as a first language), there are probably a lot of other people out here wondering what it means ...

Jon.

slacker,

Thanks for the notes on the Batwing c.c. - looks like there's not need to cry for cdma and Q! It also tends to support the belief that the glut of inventory cited by wireless suppliers around the globe this year has not been anywhere near as big a problem for those that sell cdma handsets.

China may be a little slow to ramp but ramp it will. I suspect that many of the 1X replacement handsets that are being sold in Korea will result in a lot of used cdma handsets making their way into the Chinese market.

Also we've seen reports indicating that Mot will be exclusively using Q chips in their 1X handsets and that Mot sales in Korea (not 1x handsets) are not going very well. So I suspect Mot's comments regarding 1xrtt picking up in 2Q/02 is probably pretty accurate as far as they are concerned but will lag the Korean and Japanese handset suppliers here in the US.
